Case: storage and reusage of rain water
Climate adaptation doesn’t only concern the prevention of flooding and heat stress, it also means making sure there’s enough water during the increasingly intense and longer periods of drought. Field Factors offers a solution with Bluebloqs.
At the Heat Square, they are testing a new configuration of the Bluebloqs system. Water isn’t just stored in the deep soil, but immediately underneath the ground level where it’s circulated. This makes the system easy to apply in every project location and offers an accessible variant of the previously designed circular system of Field Factors.
This offers a solution for flooding as well as drought. After the initial research and tests at The Green Village, this technology has scaled up in Spangen, to irrigate a football field of Sparta Rotterdam with rain water.
