After the transformation, the Heat Square will become a climate-adaptive and cooling square. Here, with design principles, numerous innovations and research questions will be gathered in the coming years in order to design our city more pleasantly against heat stress. The square offers great opportunities for research by TU Delft, among others.
In order to address all the challenges, measurements will be done by researchers. With this, they are developing simulation models together with entrepreneurs that provide insights into heat stress. These insights will be brought together in practical design guidelines that will be drawn up in co-creation with municipalities, design agencies, contractors, water boards and other relevant parties.
