Outsmart

Connecting with your smart outdoor space

New technology gives us new opportunities. And we expect more from our outdoor space.
Street tiles that produce electricity and generate heat when needed. Roads with adaptable lighting systems. Information displays that personally welcome us. Streetlights that can combine different functions, integrating concepts like electric charging stations or wifi hotspots.  This integrative concept is being explored at the Green Village, where scientists, businesses and legislators study, build and test smart outdoor applications in real life.

Research and innovation projects

Various partners are involved in innovations related to smart outdoor aplications. One of the projects is the smart pavement tile, that produces electricity and generates heat when needed. Other parties are involved in developing and testing integrated smart street lighting systems connected to the DC-grid.

Facilities at The Green Village

The infrastructure at The Green Village will include a DC, data and sensor network, that provide the basic facilities for the smart outdoor applications. Participants and users of The Green Village are invited to add and demonstrate their innovative technologies.
