The project can boost the capacity to 15.000 packages per factory per year. The blueprint forms the start for innovative factories that can be built right after the project delivers its main results (expected at the end of 2021). The INDU-ZERO factories can be a key part of the solution that make it possible to reach the 2030 and 2050 climate targets. \nAbout the Speaker \nUlla-Britt Krämer is project leader within the New Energy Overijssel (NEO) program of the province of Overijssel\, where she has worked since 2009. She has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bremen in Germany. She has international work experience in both the private and public sectors and is currently leading the project INDU-ZERO. The project brings together fourteen organizations from six European countries who are working together to design a factory\, that can produce net Zero renovation packages on an industrial scale\, with a total project budget of almost € 4.4 million.

Uiteraard zijn de woningen allen voorzien van zonnecollectoren\, hoge isolatie\, drie dubbel glas\, aardwarmtepomp\, warmte-terug-win-installatie\, accu etc. Buurtopslag van de energie en doorgifte aan nabijgelegen woningen of/en gebruik elektrische auto’s. De wijk zal mogelijk bestaan uit 2 wijken van 24 woningen totaal 48 woningen dit allen in CPO-vorm om de keuze aan de bewoners te laten en niet aan een gemeente of projectontwikkelaar die bepaald wat er gebouwd wordt. Naast de eigen energievoorziening zal er naar verwachting 1.000.000 kWh terug geleverd worden. DESCRIPTION:Momenteel is een standaard voor een Garantie van Oorsprong systeem in ontwikkeling voor energie van hernieuwbare bronnen waaronder elektriciteit\, gasvormige koolwaterstoffen (o.a. biomethaan)\, waterstof en warmte & koude. \nDoel van een Garantie van Oorsprong\nEen Garantie van Oorsprong heeft als doel om aan eindafnemers het aandeel/hoeveelheid energie te kunnen aantonen in: \n\nde energiemix van een energieleverancier\nde energie die aan consumenten wordt geleverd op grond van contracten die op de markt worden gebracht onder verwijzing naar het verbruik van energie uit hernieuwbare bronnen\n\nOp deze manier geeft het systeem de eindafnemers inzicht in de oorsprong van de aan hen geleverde energie en stelt hen daarmee in staat te keizen voor energie uit hernieuwbare bronnen. \nEuropese Renewable Energy Directive (REDII)\nDe Europese lidstaten moeten er voor zorgen dat de oorsprong van energie uit hernieuwbare bronnen kunnen worden gegarandeerd met daarvoor vast gestelde criteria in overeenstemming met de Europese Renewable Energy Directive (REDII). Lidstaten of de daartoe aangewezen bevoegde instanties moeten er voor zorgen dat de juiste middelen worden ingezet om te waarborgen dat garanties van oorsprong elektronisch kunnen worden afgegeven\, overgedragen en geannuleerd en dat ze nauwkeurig\, betrouwbaar en fraudebestendig zijn. \nNorm & urgentie\nMomenteel wordt de norm CEN EN 16325 ‘Guarantees of Origin related to energy – Guarantees of Origin for Electricity’ gereviseerd waarin de eisen worden opgenomen waaraan moet worden voldaan voor de Garanties van Oorsprong. Nederland voert het voorzitterschap en secretariaat van deze werkgroep. In de REDII wordt voor de garanties van oorsprong verwezen naar 1 standaard. Daarom wordt bij de revisie naast elektriciteit ook gasvormige koolwaterstoffen (waaronder biomethaan)\, waterstof en warmte en koude meegenomen. Aangezien de REDII uiterlijk in juli 2021 door de EU-lidstaten dient te zijn omgezet en de grote uitwerking van de norm\, ontvangt dit normalisatiewerk uitzonderlijke belangstelling vanuit de markt en overheidspartijen\, zoals de Europese Commissie.

SUMMARY:Lecture: Propelling the Evolution of Smart Grids and Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Following a short introduction of Spectral – a rapidly growing smart energy technology company based in Amsterdam – a number of Spectral’s ongoing projects within the domains of smart buildings and energy control systems will be presented in more detail. The presentation will provide a deeper look into the implementation process and the solutions which are applied across a number of unique cases. The presentation will also discuss the current state of the art in the industry and the future vision for the evolution of smart grids and smart buildings\, propelled by the development of cutting-edge technologies. \nMilan Milinkovic – Lead Control Systems Architect\nA power systems engineer with a strong background in the fields of renewable energy\, control system design\, and machine learning\, with a joint masters in smart grid technologies from KTH (Stockholm) and UPC (Barcelona). Milan joined Spectral in 2018\, and his work has focused on the design\, implementation\, and realization of mission-critical asset control systems for delivery of multiple\, stacked energy services\, including peak power management\, provision of balancing services\, and secondary functionalities\, such as commercial optimization based on market price forecasts. During his time at Spectral\, he has acted as lead control systems engineer for a number of cutting-edge hybrid\, renewable energy power plants\, including Hartel II and the “Rhino battery” projects which contain the largest battery storage systems in the Netherlands. \nDmitry Surugin – Team Lead Smart Building Engineering & Control\nDmitry is leading the Smart Building Engineering & Control team at Spectral\, whose focus is on predictive energy optimization\, data analytics\, and HVAC control. He has an extensive background as a technological designer and engineering consultant in renewables\, sustainable energy systems\, and high-performance building design/operation. Prior to joining Spectral\, Dmitry obtained a PDEng in Smart Buildings & Cities at TU Eindhoven. To stimulate equitable energy policy-making and risk-aware design support for low-carbon buildings\, Dmitry has proposed new methods for creating weather data for building performance simulations as part of his work at TU/E.

SUMMARY:Towards Energy Efficiency in Dutch Social Housing
DESCRIPTION:Lecture by Herman van der Bent\, PhD Candidate\, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment\nHosted by the Urban Energy Institute\nDate: Wednesday 10 March\nTime: 4-5pm CET\nModerator: Henk Visscher \nHousing associations in the Netherlands own 2.4 million homes\, representing one third of the total Dutch housing stock. This lecture will focus on the results of Herman van der Bent’s research\, about the effects of renovations on the energy consumption of dwellings and the discrepancies between modelled and actual energy consumption in the Dutch social housing stock. His work aims to help housing associations to more accurately predict the effects of renovations towards a CO2 neutral built environment. In this lecture\, he will cover renovations in the Dutch social housing stock between 2017 and 2020. Secondly\, efforts to minimize the discrepancy between modelled and actual energy consumption by building new empirical models and the associated challenges\, and thirdly\, a quick glimpse at changing policies for housing associations moving towards a CO2-neutral future. \nAbout the Speaker\nHerman van der Bent graduated in 2012 at the University of Twente\, with a research on the energy performance of dwellings. He worked for the province of South-Holland and Aedes\, the umbrella organization of social housing associations in the Netherlands. He started his PhD at the TU Delft in 2018\, financed by Aedes.

SUMMARY:Electricity Market Simulation Game
DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite you to participate in the Electricity Market Simulation Game that has been developed at the TPM Faculty. The game is used in education here at TUD as well as at other universities and in professional trainings. In this game\, small teams take on the role of power companies. Starting with a set of ageing power plants\, you need to sell their output in the electricity market in order to make money\, which you need to invest in new power plants. A period of two to three decades is simulated\, so you will experience the challenge of making the right investment decisions. \nThe game is played online and is operated by dr. De Vries of TPM. The game is played in rounds; each round\, you need to submit your bids to the market and indicate (dis)investment decisions. After dr. De Vries moves the game to the next round\, you will see on your game website how much power you sold and how much money you earned. In between rounds\, time stands still. We will play 2-3 rounds per week and therefore let the game run for 10-12 weeks. The aim is to start in the first week of March. \nIf you would like to participate in this game\, please send a mail to Eveline Zeegers. Teams will be 3-4 people; if you would like to sign up as a team\, that is fine; otherwise\, Eveline will place you in a team.
