Working safely is essential in the petrochemical industry. For the detection of hazardous substances, an autonomous inspection robot is ideal. ExRobotics wants to further develop its current robots with 5G.
The robots are capable of navigating independently and can perform many different measurements by using sensors. They offer experts the possibility to keep watch remotely. Such robots are used to make the production process safer, more efficient and more continuous.
ExRobotics is developing a design and first prototype 5G-enabled inspection robot using DoIoT Fieldlab’s 5G facilities at The Green Village. In addition, the most stringent safety certification is being prepared. The experience gained from this research is helpful for developing other robots in the manufacturing industry.
